Summer and street art in the City

And it also didn’t stop me getting looted by a squirrel last week as I ate my lunch….fail (Sorry no Lions or Giraffes here -that’s about as exciting as the wildlife gets in London, unless you count the 6am survivors surfacing the clubs on a weekend morning).Appreciate the art of putting things nicely . Best of luck for your assignment .

I will possibly   discuss more on people and various  functions in my next blog , here I would like  to introduce you with  NGO   Amref Health Africa ,where I will be working for next six months .

History

Amref Health Africa was founded in 1957 as the Flying Doctors of East Africa by three surgeons–Archibald McIndoe, Sir Michael Wood, and Thomas Rees–to bring emergency medical and surgical services to remote communities throughout East Africa. Amref Health Africa now delivers preventative, community based health care and has grown to become the largest African-led international health development organization working on the continent today.

I wish this smile remind me to spread many smiles

Me and my Son.jpgI thought of becoming  Pulse volunteer in year 2011, incidentally got chance to explore in the area of   marketing in the same year , later in 2012  elevated  as   second line sales manager . I was waiting for the next opportunity to apply for Pulse and luckily this year I am  going Kenya to work with Amref Health Africa  as Pusle Volunteer .

I never realized before, that this   is going to be so tough. As the day to leave the family, colleagues at work place has reached, lots of thoughts started hitting my brain causing lots of unrest.  This time seems to be a unique in nature , a very uncommon juncture of anxiety, curiosity, uncertainty, excitement, happiness .

Truly speaking  In never hesitated before, rather always  rushed to grab any learning opportunity I got during my journey of close to 16 year with GSK . I have moved myself to eleven different locations within country in different roles, in different cultural environment happily.  Surprisingly this time something which is really pulling me back is one who hasn’t celebrated his first birth day yet. Yes I am going for good reason but one thing I am really leaving behind is a very innocent smile, a never forgettable smile.

I may miss first birthday of my son , I may miss some of joyful moment but I am determined to bring something more from Kenya which shall positively impact life of communities to whom  Amref Health Africa is  serving .  I wish this smile strengthen my determination to spread more smiles in lives of many who have no reason to smile even.
